Nannies
A nanny is experienced and usually trained/ qualified in childcare, and they are following a career in Childcare. A Nanny is someone who is specially trained and has childcare qualifications, or someone with a very significant amount of childcare experience.
They can care for children of any age, sole charge, and work either full or part time (professional nannies usually full time). Nannies can live in with the family or live out – we have a great selection of Live In Nannies and Live Out Nannies.

Live-In Nannies are becoming increasingly popular with families as they can provide the flexibility that families need and are also much more affordable than a live-out nanny as accommodation/meals are also being provided.

Au Pairs
Live-in au pairs offer the most affordable and flexible childcare option for parents needing an extra pair of hands. Au pairs are usually girls from overseas who are looking for a cultural experience, and will live with families to provide childcare and light housework in return for board and lodging and a weekly wage.
Au Pairs can provide sole charge care or work alongside stay at home mums, as Mothers’ Helps. Most Au Pairs are generally not qualified in childcare but are happy to help with the day-to-day running of the household and family. Au Pairs are perfect for families looking for before & after school care, help with activities, completing homework, school lunches, bed/bath times and of course are happy to babysit so that parents can enjoy a well -deserved night out!

Au Pairs are usually on a Working Holiday Visa and can be from European countries, Asia UK, New Zealand, Canada and USA and typically available for 6 months.

Au Pair or Nanny
The difference between an Au Pair and a Nanny is basically that a Nanny is a professional and being a Nanny is their chosen career and an Au Pair is working for an experience and childcare is not their career.
However, we do have experienced young nannies and childcarers who are also considered Au Pairs as they are travelling from overseas and we categorise them as an Au Pair Plus or Live-In Nanny – depending on their experience.
They will live with you as an Au Pair but can care for babies/multiple children, sole charge and work longer hours as they are experienced and trained.

Experienced Au Pair – Au Pair PLUS
For families requiring a live-in Au Pair who has previous childcare experience who can be given more responsibility and work longer hours we recommend an Au Pair Plus.
These are candidates who have worked previously as a Nanny /Au Pair or in a Childcare setting where they are have gained solid experience working with children (min 200 hours). They are happy to work sole charge or as a Mother’s Help, can manage long hours and can be given more responsibility.
Ideal for busy households who need a self-starter, rather than a big sister. An experienced girl over 21 who is a native English speaker is also considered an Au Pair Plus.
Live-in Nanny
Live-in Nannies have a childcare qualification or have completed Nanny Training, nannying experience and are either starting out a career as a Nanny or have already being working as a Nanny. Live-in Nannies are usually from Australia, New Zealand, UK and USA.
Live-in Nannies can be available for 6 or 12 month contracts.
